Where motion is lost, health can be found

Osteopathy

Osteopathic treatment focuses on facilitating the restoration of health to an area by removing restrictions in all layers of tissue. Treatment addresses the structure and function of the muscles, fascia, joints, nerves, blood vessels, and lymphatics so the body is able to appropriately make use of its natural self-healing and self-regulating capabilities.

I am extremely passionate about the human body and helping others improve their quality of life. I work to strengthen the framework of the body by correcting misalignment's in order to return balance and stability within the body. Through gentle manual therapy I work with the body to remove restriction and restore function in all layers of tissues to encourage health. This frees the nervous, arterial, venous, and lymphatic structures of restriction, creating the ideal environment for the body's restorative pathways to function at their best.

Life is hard on our bodies, they undergo stress and strain constantly whether physical, mental, emotional, or gravity weighing us down. Our body is an amazing, living, biomechanical machine that helps us process life's stresses every day so we can live with the least amount of pain and discomfort. Our body is the sum of many different parts, similar to a machine, each part is dependent on the other to perform a function, and when one part starts to fail, the whole machine is affected to some degree. In either case, damage can occur (trauma/injury/accidents), belts and pulleys can become strained (muscles, joints, connective tissues), and fluids my leak or build up into other areas (arteries, veins, lymphatics). Over time, restrictions in the body that are left untreated can lead to issues above and below the restricted area. This is referred to as compensation, where soft tissues above and below the restricted area work harder to make up for the loss of function, creating asymmetry in the body.

At some point these parts need to be looked at, repaired, replaced, or brought in for a tune up and realigned. I look at the body like a mechanic, assessing all its parts, ensuring all parts are aligned so that all body systems can work together more efficiently to promote long term health. When the body is able to function as intended and move freely without restriction, we tend to feel better with less pain.
