About me
I am originally from Prince Edward Island and began my educational journey shortly after travelling abroad to Australia where I discovered my passion for health, anatomy, and physiology. Upon my return, I attended Holland College, obtaining a diploma in Sport and Leisure management before continuing my education at the University of New Brunswick earning a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. During my undergraduate degree I was as a member of the UNB Track and Field team competing in the 'Shotput' and 'Weight Throw' events. Following my time at UNB I was looking for something more within the health sciences and was introduced to Osteopathy by a friend. I quickly found the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in Hamilton, Ontario and never looked back.
I love osteopathy because it treats the whole body as opposed to treating symptoms. When treating the body with a collective approach in mind the aim is to progress the body's capacity to heal, stabilize, and function on its own so it is better able to maintain and sustain health for the long term. Symptoms can often result from a underlying root cause unless it is an acute/traumatic injury. It is my job to look for the cause that is creating your issue and put the body in a position where its natural healing mechanisms can be most efficient to address injury and dis-ease within the body. The classical osteopathic approach allows assessment and treatment to be uniquely crafted to the patient based on their individual needs so no treatment is the same. Many people may come into the office with a similar issue (ie. shoulder pain) but how that issue manifested is unique to that person, and therefore treatment is adaptive. Factors such as previous health history (injuries/surgeries), lifestyle, and habits all play a role in determining the best approach to use for each individual patient.

Whenever I am not in the office my favorite activities include meditating, swimming, running, walking/hiking, traveling, spending time with my partner, getting in games of pickleball whenever possible, and learning piano on the side. Whenever I have the pleasure to visit PEI I love to visit my favorite beaches to soak up the sun, and finish the day by getting some ice cream at the local hotspots.

It is my goal to help all patients improve their overall quality of life through osteopathic manual therapy and a patient centered approach. I want to get to know you to better understand your issues, and offer advice to help you out of the office! I aim to liberate your body of restriction so that you can live everyday with better movement, less pain, an improved sense of well being and awareness of your body.
